mobcraft

General Beer Discussion by MATTFUNGUS

Not been on in awhile, thought the site was shut down. Found this however. In madison theres a brewery called mobcraft. You think it up, they brew it, IF enough people pre-order it. Its like a popularity contest. So for grins I put one in. My name is mouthwatering platinum blonde, they shrunk it to just platinum blonde. Its a belgian strong with sezchaun peppers, which are not peppers at all but are actually prickly ash berries which cause your mouth to salivate. Anyway check out the specks, brew it yourself. My original recipe also calls for silver dragees (you know those cake decorations) to make sure its platinum https://www.mobcraftbeer.com/preorder[:D]

[:)][^][8D] GENESEE BOCK, again available locally. AOL Search is new to me. I LIKE IT! Here's a range of reviews {of the BOCK) from March 2010 ------> A few days ago. [;)] http://search.aol.com/aol/video?q=genesee+bock+beer+videos&s_it=searchtabs

I am guessing this brew is like the old Pabst bock...bock as in Goat not as in Bock Bier. I just can't get excited over a 5.2 "bock" beer. Course if I was drinking light beers and this came along...each to his own...

It's not Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock, for sure! But for its class and price category I think it deserves high marks. [8D] [;)] If you get a chance, give it a try. It's pretty easy on the wallet and I don't think you'd relegate it as a drain pour. [:)]

Where I live no chance of seeing this brew, as I say reminds me of the old Pabst bock...or heavens preserve us Lyincoogle the stuff Millers puts in fancy boxes...there bock is 5.5 if I recall. Now don't be thinkin I be in a glass house, it comes down to Mickey's when its desperate in these parts, would trade that any day for a Fosters Green can..that is desperate!!

[:)] Got a GOAT 12 today at a place I've long known of, but never before visited. http://csfarmmarket.com/ They have great variety. Their prices can be bested by other stores, but not their selection. Afa price, this 12er was ~ $9.50 bt&d. Not bad in today's market. Alright then. [8D] http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=17dbuu&s=6

Here's a one month old review of the current version whch I bought. IMO it isn't identical frm year to year (not Budweiser) but very close. [:)] https://search.aol.com/aol/video?q=genesee+bock+beer+videos&s_it=searchtabs#id=1&vid=2ac27f06c032eec410e112dd0cc59784&action=view

I'm not liking Genny Bock lately. Seems to be about the same as their Oktoberfest..dry, bland, two-dimensional bitter charcoal... Beers change behind the label. Genny Bock was a great occasionally available brew for many years. I've given up. :-(

Genesee Bock is now Spring Bock Special Edition. Had to grab a couple...$8.49 bt&d. Hoped that the label change signaled a change BACK TO the earlier (VERY GOOD) formula(s) ?!? :o Mixed impressions. If you don't have any interest in the Light Beer category you can quit this post NOW. ;) Reason: This IS a better version than the last one. Caveat: This version should be labeled as Genesee Bock Light Beer. Nothing offensive at all! The flavor is pleasant and simply a watered down brew. Still 5.2% abv. Haven't checked calories, but it's too light in flavor to be a 4 star. That's it.
