talked about our National (and World) Leadership.... I love the overload of "Intelligence" that we keep finding and sharing publically.... Russia covertly helping the rebels, Russian fingerprints on airliner downing, now they're firing into Ukraine from their own borders, more heavy weapons ready for transfer, blah, blah, blah.... I guess once you call out a red line and do nothing about it (cough, cough, chemical gasses and Syria), it's pretty hard to do the same to a big bad boy like, Putin, who scares ya to death..... At least quit wasting all your money and resources on intelligence if you're not gonna do anything about it. But, geez, aside from everywhere else that Obama is failing in foreign policy (which he doesn't have, so it's hard to make fun of).... what the heck is Europe doing? Held hostage by Russian Energy, I get it, but where are the big boy pants? Isn't this how the World Wars started and didn't they learn anything??????? No more Churchills or Roosevelts. But, Putin is looking like a Hitler if you ask me. Time for a beer....

The US has no foreign or domestic policy. The country is a sail-less, rudder-less ship. I don't think Obama has ever liked BEING the president, he just liked the idea of being president. But 6 years into his administration, it's still Bush's fault. On the other side, the republicans have very few real leaders. Boehner is a poor excuse for leadership.

Y my post wasn't an endorsement of either side. The reason Obama got a second term is the lack of R leadership you mentioned. Tea Party whack jobs have demonstrated a lack of strategy and unity in any ideal that could exist that isn't Democratic Party aligned.

The Russia-Syria-Iran-China alliance is deeply troubling, especially when added to the ongoing unrest in Israel and surrounds. Iraq is crumbling from within, not just because the Coalition departed, but our departure (abdication?) certainly emboldened and enabled the Anti-West agenda, to wit:

  • Russia is cackling with glee. It has (a) Europe in a headlock over energy, (b) the bulk of Asia as military customers, and (c) a feckless America at arm's length;
  • ISIS is literally erasing the borders between Syria and Iraq, as in, cutting the berms with dozers.
  • Though the Sunni-Shia divide is sharp, ISIS wants to re-establish the Islamic dominance in the Middle Eastern region first, then settle the leadership issue under the restored Caliphate
  • The Russian-backed Syrian president has just been re-elected, despite (or because of?) dropping barrel bombs on dissenters
  • Iran is happy to push Shi'a Islam westward, through Baghdad toward Israel, within striking distance of Jerusalem with Russian-made weapons;
  • The Kurds are happy, since they have set their sites on swiping Diyarbakir from Turkey and creating the country of Kurdistan. And really, who will stop them? Iraq? Turkey alone? Turkey with NATO? Russia and China patiently await NATO's demise. They will watch and secretly help.
  • By negotiating with Hammas, even "unofficially", the Obama administration is giving them all the legitimacy they need;
  • China would rather ally with Asia than with America, it's as simple as that
The problem is not Obama, the Man. The problem is America, the Sheeple. We elected an idealistic orator over a crotchety curmudgeon in 2008, and over a smarmy oligarch in 2012. We get what we deserve. Too few people in this country worry about whether their children will have grandchildren before Armageddon. Really, is pushing off Armageddon for a couple more generations too much to ask? Can we put down our wide-screen TV remotes and think past Tuesday? "Bring home the troops!" Polls are running this country, not leaders. Where are the leaders like the aforementioned Churchill and Roosevelt who articulated a compelling, unifying vision, and THEN listened to advisors and even the public opinion polls? In this country, the selfish tail is wagging the stupid dog. A bait accusation would presume that: a) I care one iota about your participation in intelligent conversations; and, b) That I don't find dialogue with others here on topics like this interesting and sometimes mind stretching. Just to help you out, criteria not met. And since you couldn't tell, the thread wasn't positive regarding Obama or any of our world leadership right now, and there was no sparring, but instead general agreement and mostly shared opinions without exaggerated emoticons and all caps and name calling etc..... Throwing bait to catch the goldfish in your fishtank is what such an activity of trying to bait you would be paralleled to. Not interested. And since you couldn't tell, the thread wasn't positive regarding Obama or any of our world leadership right now, and there was no sparring, but instead general agreement and mostly shared opinions without exaggerated emoticons and all caps and name calling etc.....
