Congratulations my friend! This was an epic accomplishment. I hope you had a blast. Now it's time to relax and recover.

Pro - Packers. Named for Curly Lambeau's employer, the Indian Packing Company, who provide $500 for uniforms and equipment on the condition that the team be named for them. College - Buckingham U. "Bucky" Badger High School - Watertown Goslings. That's right, the Mighty, Mighty Goslings. A politically incorrect nickname as it honors Watertown's goose noodling industry from the early 1900s; geese were force fed to enlarge their livers for pate de foie gras.

For a guy who was such an innovator in the game of football, Paul Brown wasn't much of an original thinker outside the lines... The Cincinnati Bengals were named for a team that played in the 2nd AFL in 1937, and bounced around a few other leagues until 1941. And, say, has anybody noticed that the Browns and the Bengals wear the same shade of orange? High School, the very non-PC Holy Cross Indians.
Indian snake charmer or Indian rain dancer? "Indian" is as PC as Eskimo, and it's also PC to get specific (Seminoles, Chiefs) but apparently not PC to get personal (Redkins).

Did you know the original name for the Nebraska Cornhuskers (Go Big Red) was the Bug Eaters? Times were tough for the early settlers. Sod busters and bug eaters they were. Tough times make some tough people! Or at least some tough-sounding names! Still, I can see why Cornhuskers eventually won out...

Found this surfing at lunch... and yeah, "Redskins" made the list of culturally insensitive or some such thing. http://www.cracked.com/article_15646_the-worlds-most-ridiculous-sports-team-names.html
