It's time for all the laws to change

General Beer Discussion by CYRENAICA

http://tbo.com/news/politics/craft-brewers-clash-with-big-beer-lobby-20130622/ Seriously, do ANY of these lawmakers care about the consumer?

Interesting. So I can buy a 12-pack of PBR and add this to it ...or for less hassle I could just buy a decent beer in the first place that will (I'm reasonably certain)taste better anyway. Who is the target audience here? The Keystone drinker who likes to have a "fancy" beer every once in a while? How many of those are there?

I hate their dated terminology. Just add to any domestic beer? So if I put this into a Bell's Expedition, it will turn into a pale ale? [:D] But then again, this is not aimed at craft beer drinkers.

Whoever invented this should be punched in the face. Totally disrespectful to beer.

So, a simple squirt will change a lager to an ale? Cool!

Well, it's gluten free, so it may be an alternative for those who are stuck drinking lesser quality GF beers & want the taste of something a bit more exciting. Just a thought. But when you consider that most GF beers taste pretty much like a PBR or less, it's an interesting option. Nothing will ever equal an honest craft beer, but when you're left with no choices but weak GF beers, it might not be so terrible.

My cheap way of doing this is having something nice like an IPA and purposefully leaving a little bit in the glass when I pour in a cheap pale lager. It usually improves the beer. [:)]

And seriously, how much more expensive is a normal pale ale compared to a "domestic" beer anyways? Around these parts there are many craft beer that are cheaper per ounce than Bud, Canadian, Miller, etc.

I couldn't resist ordering one of the "pale ale" flavored bottles ($7.56 with shipping) to see what it's like. Although my wife enjoys all of the craft beer I do (except Belgians), she drinks her fair share of crappy lagers that could use some enhancing. At least I doubt it could hurt a beer like Keystone Light. I'll be sure to post the results once we try it. And for the record, I have very, very low expectations that this stuff will be any good. I do have a pregnant, beer loving friend that isn't too thrilled about drinking N/A beer for the next several months--maybe this stuff will make those beers more drinkable.

Can this be added as a beer to the database!!! Keystone with OTB "Pale Ale - 32.48ml" and Bud Light with OTB "Pale Ale - 12.48ml" There could be a whole world of beers to try and document here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Too many (!)?) maybe...
