Good luck with your venture, ICB. I was not aware that some people consider "American" an ethnicity and your survey was the first time I have seen that option. I suppose ethnicity and Nationality are synonyms in smaller or more homogeneous societies like South Korea or Ireland. All the same, it's odd and thought-provoking to see ethnicity and Nationality used synonymously for a country as racially and culturally diverse as America. I am White (race) and of European descent (ethnicity). I am as American as my Black, White, Hispanic, Native, and Asian neighbors. How do you think a Black person would feel having to chose between African-American and American on your survey?
