Vegitable beers

General Beer Discussion by AIRFORCE1

I have been wondering about this not-so-common brew that is out there. Trying to find out what catagory to put it in. Would these fit in with fruit beers or just the generic "Ale"? Example; beers that have sweet potatoes, squash or rhubarb for instance.

We used to combine vegetable/fruit together a long time ago. Take a look at our style guidelines: http://beerpal.com/brain/styles.htm In there, it seems most appropriate to put them in Spiced. Of course, an argument can always be made for any one beer to be put in an alternate category or two, so it isn't a "lock," depending on the specific beer you're talking about. More times than not, your vegie beer is probably best under Spiced, though.
