Blind Barleywine tasting results..

Last night a very good friend invited a bunch of my tasting group over for a blind barleywine tasting. 13 people, 13 brews .. all poured by his wife with numbered glasses. just a slash of the results, some surprises for me. 1. Goose Island King Henry (was number one by 10 people, of the other 3, 2 had it in their top 3; only one person didn't concur.. quite surprised by this one.) 2. Firestone Walker Abacus 2011 3. Pelican Mother of all Storms those were concrete, everything else besides the bottom brew were very close and basically a tie, results done in order. - Sebago Single Batch Series Barleywine - Great Divide BA Ruffian - Pretty Things Our Finest Regard - Hoppin Frog Naked Evil - East End Gratitude '07 - Hangar 24 Barrel Roll No. 04: Hammerhead - Barrel Aged Barley Wine - Valley Brew Old Inventory BarleyWine - Dry Dock Signature Series Bligh’s Barleywine Ale - Three Floyds Behemoth Barleywine '07 and the stinker of the group, and personally, no surprise for me.. 13.
