Hi Time Wine
General Beer Discussion by SLOWRUNNER77
Just placed an order with this SoCal beer & wine store. 4 hours later, he's already packing my box because they called me at work to let me know one of the 18 bottles I ordered were out, and proceeded to give a long list of suitable replacements, some of which were brand new and not on their site yet. Super nice (though I'm glad the beer they ran out of was a "throw in". The best part? $9.99 shipping per case(!) to CA, metro NV, and metro AZ. With no mark-up either, that's just plain ridiculous. And it's not automatically a 12-bottle case when you have one or more big bottle. I've got 6 big bottles and 12 small one's included for that price. I haven't even got the order yet, and I'm already impressed. Anyone been there in person?

Plenty of times. Surprised you didn't visit when you were down there. It's only about 30 minutes or less from Disneyland. The beer selection is great, but believe it or not...it's only a small portion of the store. They have about 3-4 aisles dedicated to tequila. My wife about made us bankrupt when we went there. I thought I was bad leaving there with $300+ in beer. When we left, our trunk was full of tequila and about $500 lighter in the pocketbook. Rows of whiskey, rows of rum, vodka, etc...oh yeah...they had some wine too I guess. Their beer section is pretty special with a huge walk-in cooler full of great beer. My first visit, I asked if they had any Pizza Port (this was prior to Lost Abbey). It was my first lesson in the piss-poor distribution laws in CA and the crappy 3-tier system.

I'll be in San Diego in 4 1/2 weeks, and we're looking for beer stores and bars to go to in additional to a good list of breweries. I've talked up Bruery Provisions so much to my buddies since that Disneyland trip that we'll go that far north too (not to mention they have a brand new tasting room another 10 minutes or so north of Provisions). The shipping was so cheap that I used the site to get some of the stuff we'd have been packing back on the plane out of the way before the trip. It was 10% of the order...just barely more than tax and CRV would have been in person. Good to know it's worth a visit, too! They have Angels Envy bourbon, which I've been wanting to try...
