Beer and babies

General Beer Discussion by MATTFUNGUS

My mother claims that when i was a baby I couldnt drink milk and she was desperate, then a german neighbor said to her that she should warm up beer and give it to me. She did this and I began to gain weight. My mother thanked the woman profusely. Anyone here have similar stories?

My parents said they gave me a little bit of whiskey as I was a baby with colic. I never was sure if they were serious.

My parents were tea-totallers. But I have heard of putting whiskey on a teething baby's gums. I've never heard of giving beer to a baby, though. I suppose that explains a lot, matt. [;)] Lots of people have that grandfather/uncle/whoever that let a young child have a sip of their beer, generally to the disgust of the child in question.

I just assumed it was normal for every child of beer drinking parents in Wisconsin to have a tried a little nip from the bottle when they were babies/kids/teens.

My (almost) two-year-old LOVES to drain the last few drops out of the bottle.
