Green Bay beer hotspots this weekend?

General Beer Discussion by FUNK

Hey all, The wife and I will be in Green Bay Wednesday-Saturday for a wedding. I've spent plenty of time in the area in the past and always hit up Titletown and Ridgeview Liquor (and Woodman's when trying to save a few bucks on beer) when in town. Are there any other, lesser known must-stops? We are already planning to stop at Town Hall in Minneapolis for lunch on Wednesday and the Great Dane and/or Red Eye as we pass through Wausau. I'd like to visit Stevens Point but don't think the timing will work out this time.

If you're able to hit up Titletown and Hinterland when in Green Bay, and Ridgeview for bottles, then you're doing just fine. GB is still a work in progress but maybe some of the other Wisconsinites can chime in.

I agree with everything travis said. My only other addition is if you want to go to a nice english looking bar go to Nikki's Lionhead in DePere.

If you have to pick between red eye and great dane I would go with red eye. Also if you can take a 20 mile detour south of wausau on51 check out Oso, they are right off the highway and have their own beer as well as about 40 other guest taps of Wisconsin beers.

There are two other potential beer stores in DePere and Allouez, but you may as well keep it to just Ridgeview. Also, Woodmans is okay, but it doesn't accept credit cards. Cash or check only. And it can be a zoo at times.

Also, Titletown, when asking for the sampler you are ordering a small glass of everything on tap. It's a shocker to some and a beerlovers dream to others. My recommendations this week are the Hopasaurus Rex, The Sapsucker and the One Hop Wonder.

Just saw that Ned Kelly's in downtown Green Bay is now carrying Founders.

I suppose the Cock n' Bull on Main Street would be worth hitting up. Not after 7pm unless you want to be around a bunch of noisy, belligerent Green Bay drunks. They have a really stellar selection on tap as well as probably 150+ bottles.
