Countries Tried
Website Comments by RAINMAN
In my stats, I noticed I've only tried a measly 29 / 174 (17%) of possible countries. Is there an easy way to get a list of most popular beers from each country? I have a similar issue with states, etc. Would be great if there was a way to search the info we have, I know we have the technology, Flash! :)

Are you serious? Do you even know how long it takes to plan and redesign a new database with over 40 tables from scratch? Everything I have been working on for the past year has been new from the ground up. Just picking out the photo album javascript I wanted to use took 20 hours. Then getting the photo album pages to look right, another 20 hours. Then getting the uploads and editing to work, another 20 hours. Now repeat that for dozens of other functions. I haven't missed a day on here all year, and every error posted in the forums has gotten fixed.

Here at Beerpal what you see is what you get.
Hey Flash - can you read my original question, skip all the bullshit and conjecture, and answer that instead? It was originally directed to you. Thanks! I'm operating under the assumption that unless it is easy-cheesy (might, be - might not) then while you wouldn't want to spend a gazillion hours on it now, if this is something that could be on the new site later.
No sir I don't.

dude, just drink every shitty pale lager you can find - they all be brewed in strange places - that's how I got so many countries! That and parents who travel and smuggle beer in their bums for me!

I think you can assume that this will be possible on the new site... and if not initially, that it could be added without a ton of work. For now, you do know about the beer directory (for looking by style) and the brewery directory, right? They aren't "easy" to just identify the most rated beers by style or country, but they get you there with some clicking. Regarding the new site, I admit, I've been a little impatient about it too, probably undercutting the total amount of work. So, I do apologize for that showing up (as an ignorant disregard of the amount of work) in my posts. But, at the same time it's a bit like the release of a new product that is anticipated but delayed - e.g. Windows 95. Customers build expectations off of announced releases. While Flash has never promised it by a certain date, there has been talk about it for at least a year now? And, we picked a logo quite some time ago with a comment in there around a hope of May 2011. So, let's recognize the following: a) Flash is working his butt off on it - thank you Flash; and, b) We all (including Flash) had not appreciated how much work it would actually take to get it done. So, for now, in the lease disrespectful way, beerpal IS what it IS. And we are cool with that - we keep coming back and it is free. And, at the same time, feedback is heard and accounted for by Flash - even if you can't see it all in the product yet. Cheers!

Thanks - I had forgotten all about that link, it's very helpful.
