Poll: The GABF?

Poll Discussion by CLASH

Have you ever been to the GABF? -Yes, one time. -Yes, more than once. -No, but I plan to go in the next few years. -No, but it's on my bucket list. -No, I don't really want to go. -What is a GABF? Some kinda twitter code? The Great American Beer Festival is happening from September 29th-October 1st in Denver, CO as always. Have you ever been? Did you enjoy it or not? If you haven't been are there any plans to go soon? Or is it another thing on your "to do before I die" list (bucket list)? Or maybe you don't want to go at all!

Last year was the first time I went and I am sorry I did not go this year. There were crowds, and the lines, were not bad unless you were looking for any of the super rare stuff. Utopia, Black Tuesday etc. The folks who run this really know how to run a fest. Even the lines to get in and the line to the Mens room moved smoothly.

What's with the crowd hatin'? Ya'll aren't old, just lame. [:p] I could care less about the GABF, but if I was in Denver at that time, I'd sure go out of my way to attend. Great Taste of the Midwest is where it's at. I've talked to dozens of brewers there who also attend GABF and they all say the same thing: GTMW is the best beer festival out there. Check it out sometime. Heads up though, there will be crowds and you may have to stand in line. [:0]

Standing in line = some of the best conversations I've ever encountered. I'm in...where's my damn ticket?

I'm not patient enough to stand in a line...for beer...or food...or music...or pretty much anything. If it's a 5-10 minutes, no problem. 30m, 60m...2hrs...no freakin' way.

Went to GTMW a few years ago. Meh, didn't make me like beer fests anymore. I recall getting made fun of doing ratings at least twice and almost getting in a fight with a guy that was blowing cigar smoke in my face. Crowds and annoying drunks just aren't my thing.

I've gone once, really enjoyed it....I've been to the GTMW as well, and enjoyed it too, although all the brewers I talked to preferred the GABF because it was larger and better for business. I think beerfests are fun because you meet a lot of great like minded people united by beer. Unlike sports fans who tend to concentrate one particular team per sport, beer geeks tend to be far more open-minded, and the conversations in the line-ups tend to reflect that. You never see an IPA fan beaten up and left for dead by a stout fan.........
