General Beer Discussion by MUKATSUKUU

Just curious, about foreigner's tastes : Which is the Belgian beer you liked , or that surprised you most? (please exclude the Westvleteren, too obvious!)

Impossible to pick one! Abbaye des Rocs Grand Cru Rochefort 10 & 8 Cantillon Lou Pepe Pure Kriek & Framboise Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Blauw Rodenbach Grand Cru Orval Girardin Gueuze Black Label Fantôme Saison I would love to visit there and find some new favorites. While I like Lambics, I have to be in the right mood for them.

I keep trying the Grand Cru too, byt the 6th or 7th bottle I tried I started to like. I have one thats been in the cellar for 5 years now. May open soon. Otherwise Rochefort 10 and 8 aged a couple years are among the best beers on the planet. Fresh I find them a bit too yeasty and the mouthfeel a bit funny, but aging takes that all away and it becomes like a wicked Christmas cake! Love it.
