Poll: The Know It All
Poll Discussion by CLASH
Bout damn time right? This one asks "A 'know it all' is in a bar telling you many false statements about beer, you....." --Ignore them, now back to my smartphone. --Just agree, they are not worth your time. --Strike up a mild mannered conversation but correct the errors. --Loudly proclaim your beer expertise and insist they are wrong. --Act drunk and try to throw up on them. We've all been at a bar before and some stranger starts talking to us, (either in the middle of talking to our friends or minding our business watching ESPN) proclaiming "Dark beers are strong" or "Fat Tire is a good Belgian beer", something like that. How would you handle it?

depends on HOW obnoxious/ridiculous their comments are. i voted "try to barf on them" because that would entertain me and my party the most...but it really depends [:D]
I try to amuse myself in these instances, and that typically includes trying to top their stupidity. For instance: "Bock beer is made from the bottom of the barrel." - Stranger drinking a Narragansett Bock "Yep, and in 1600's Germany, a barrel was referred to as a "cock", bock was just a combination of boden which is German for bottom, and cock. It started out as Boden-cock, but was shortened by the locals. I suppose it's better than cock bottom!" With any luck, he'll tell the next guy he meets at a beer bar the same thing. I'm pretty sure this is how the infamous Ben Franklin quote started.

Ignore, ignore, ignore. The world is, unfortuntaely, full of stupid people that don't know dick about beer, sports, movies, books, food, politics, cars, news, etc, etc.
Meh, I'm not an expert on most things, if anything. It's not the lack of knowledge that bothers me, it's the willingness to share misinformation with others that bothers me.
