Exploding beer?

Beer Swapping by JLOZIER

I recently received a package via trade and two of the bottles appear to have leaked...a lot. The glass was not broken and the caps are still attached. Any ideas about what might have happened? My guess is the heat caused the beers to expand and break the seal made by the cap. Is that accurate?

heat or excessive shaking.. the couple of times i've had leaked beer it was fine to drink... chill and drink soon though, before they... explode...

oh yes...shaking...I don't know why that hadn't occurred to me. Good to know they are still drinkable; I was a little concerned about the broken seal. I'll get right on that.[:p]
