Laughing Dog Sneaky Pete Imperial IPA

Beer Discussion by BLUESANDBARBQ

BeerPal Notice: This topic was created for discussion of the beer Laughing Dog Sneaky Pete Imperial IPA. Just started noticing this one around Tennessee stores. Very nice effort. One of the best DIPAs I've had so far this summer.

Yes, a solid beer. Nice to have an IIPA that is not just a hop bomb.

Solid brew, but very far from a top notch Imperial IPA in my book. I liked the overload of honey that really seemed to propel the uniqueness of this brew, but the hops didn't impress me very much. Sneaky for sure as it's not very bitter and damn drinkable. Would fare better as an American Strong Ale for my perception, and at $12 a 4-pack I won't be seeking it out again. Definitely glad to find it in a typically bland beer area that is my hometown while visiting this past weekend.

was yours fresh, Cory? the one i had was maybe 2 months old and while definitely leaning sweet, there was definitely ample hops and bitterness. who knows, though, could be our...uh...palate variance...or batch differences...

The 4-pack had a bottled on date within four weeks of my purchase so definitely fresh. Hops were clearly evident, just wasn't IIPA hoppy from what I expect.
