Happy birthday BeerPal! I can't believe it has been 10 years already. It was actually 10 years old yesterday, but I forgot about it. [:I]

Flash, Thanks for 10 years of growing the site and leading the community. Let's brew a 10 year anniversary ale with 10 malts, 10 hops, 10% abv, and 10 ea 4 oz servings per bottle. We'll call it BeerPal X FourLife and sell it in 40 oz cork-and-cage finished collectible glassware bottles ready to ship. There will be a 5 cent surcharge for the brown paper bag. CeLeBrAtE! Woot! I would think that Clash deserves a HUGE thanks for putting this on life support during the dark years. Cheers Clash! [:D]
Interesting.........and while reading the Kostritzer page, I noticed a few abnormalities 1) Surly Jesus Juice is listed as a duplicate of Kostritzer Scwarzbier? How do beers from tow different breweries in two different countries on two different continents become duplicates of one another? 2) Texas Crude Bock is listed as a duplicate (brewed by Pabst in the US until the 90s at least). Same question as #1 Just curious

The 2nd member registerd on May 31st, a friend of mine. You can actually see that some beers were added as early as 25 September 2000. Kostritzer Schwarzbier was the first. You can see dates by looking at the history log of beers starting with ID #1. I started making some of the backbone code in 1999, and in the year 2000 I came up with BeerPal. Originally I was making a member site for trading cards lol. In fact, my admin site still says Trading Card World on the title! On 9/25 I started entering beers into the database on a partially completed website. It took a long freaking time to get a few hundred beers on there by myself! All the info came from beer books or bottles I bought. At thetime I couldn't find any other beer database websites on search engines, which is why I made this site (sometime later in 2001 I found RB).

10 years since idea conception, or the site going live?
Woah! I didn't realize it recorded duplicates of other beers! I'm going to have to fix that. Sometimes I would delete a beer by making it a duplicate of something else, and I'd use beer ID #1 for convenience. The Jesus Juice was a joke beer. Texas Crude Bock was up in the air for a while and eventually deleted because of conflicting brewery addresses and it was so old.

Thanks for the props guys but even I jumped ship for about a year lol. I'd say the people who kept rating and posting the entire time deserve the real credit for the life support. I'll pour out some of my 40 for those who left the site too soon [^]

So has Noogfest permanently jumped the shark or can we hold out hope for next year?
