Prayers

Non-Beer Discussion by BLUESANDBARBQ

for my Southern Brothers and Sisters during and after the worst day of tornadoes we've ever experienced. Clash, fargingbastige, and more have been hit extremely hard by multiple storms. Keep these areas in your thoughts and prayers. Worst I've ever seen...[:(]

Terrible to see. Hope all our fellow BP folks are ok. I am amazed at the level of destruction, truly awful. I grew up in KS and saw the aftermath of a few big ones, absolutely devastating. Had one bounce over my house in Iowa a few years ago. I just don't get the whole storm chaser mentality, there is nothing fun about being near a tornado.

You cats that live in Tornado Alley... I don't know how you do it.

Geeeeez.... I'm up. Damn, what a ride... my personal thoughts and prayers are with all of those who lost more than I. I had only two trees down with no significant damage to my home and no loss of family - for that I am thankful. I have 200 guys out working and know many who have lost all. SOB, that was bad!

SOB was a mile wide and kept gaining strength and spent an inordinate amount of time on the ground... Tuscaloosa was hit hard... Cullman is gone... Pleasant Grove and Pratt City (much smaller) leveled. Fultondale (just North of Bham) - gone. Guys, its bad. I got two trees cut up and moved out of my road this afternoon - small price to pay. Tried to buy water to drop off at civic center and no one had any in stores. Gas was tough to get in locations that had power.

Glad to hear you're well, farg. I was thinking about everyone today, and it's insane to think about all the loss of life. Hope all our other southern Beerpals are safe tonight as well.

The wife and I drove near one some years back in Minnesota. Scared the shit out of us. I don't wanna know about being any closer to one than we were. (It sandblasted the paint of the front of our trusty old Chevy Corsica).

Thanks for the thoughts. We as a family are doing fine. The city, not so much. Posting from my phone so I hope this works. The joys of no internet.

Thanks for the post, doing fine here myself. We had some high winds and heavy rain but that was about it. Sassy also lives in Ringgold and is fine. Pretty much everyone I know seems to be accounted for so that's a relief. Many around here weren't so lucky unfortunately. I've lived here about 25 years and even the Easter tornados in '97 weren't this bad.
