When you ask about being able to view more statistics, are you referring to IBU, OG/FG, etc.? We are asked for this information when we add a beer, but for some reason the information does not appear on the beer's page. Would a link to a distribution map also be a potential stat (I was thinking of something along the lines of a BeerPal's "States" map.) Or would this be too difficult to maintain/validate?

I think Flash is out getting drunk in Portland today so I'll bite. Those stats should show up when the new site is up and running (OG, FG, IBU, etc). I think Flash has other stats in mind also but not sure of specifics. He can explain that after he wakes up and has had time to puke.
Hmm yeah I did just get up from the couch after a 4 hour nap and now it's bedtime. I went to 3 brewpubs this afternoon [:D] I got the IBU showing up in the new beer pages but I haven't found a good spost for OG and FG yet. I may just have it appear in the description area. The problem with those two stats is that it's not available for the majority of beers so I don't want a dedicated spot that is blank most of the time.

I was leaving the stats open to interpretation. Trying to see what percentage of people don't give a hoot about beer info, because I know some people who use this site are not here for that. I was thinking more along the lines of beer lists like "top beer from X state" or "top beer over 10% abv" I'm not sure what you mean by a distribution map. A map showing where people have been able to purchase a beer? A few weeks ago I found what seems to be a neat graphing program at http://www.amcharts.com/. They also have one for maps. They seem to work pretty well, so maybe I'll buy them down the road when the more important stuff is finished.

That is pretty much what I was thinking. If I knew where a beer was available, then I would have a better idea of which beerpals to hit up for a trade. I realize that is not a completely accurate representation; California would be checked for a lot of beers, and I can't get sh!t around here (without a many-hour drive to civilization, at any rate).

While that info might not be available some of the time, many brewers do list it on their websites or at the brewery. I find it interesting. Whether it's blank or not, shouldn't effect the site too much, right?
