As most of you know the BP Crew has been updating the beer database behind the scenes. I wasn't going to incorporate them until we were done, but it's take a looong time. So, after several hours of pain in the ass coding, I've gotten the updated info in the real database. One important change is the new set of styles. Some of the non-updated beers may be a little screwed up because they haven't had their style changed to the new system. That's mainly why I didn't want to insert the updated list until it was done. All future beers that are added will have to use the new set of styles. Another issue is that a couple hundred beers were duplicates and the reviews under those duplicates were automatically transferred to the right beer but the stats for the beer were not recalcuated. This will take some more pain in the ass code, so I haven't done it yet. There's also the possibility that some beers will have 2 reviews by the same person. I tried making a script that would find cases of this but it turned up no results. Either I'm lucky or it didn't work. I think it didn't work. Soon I'll have tools for the BP Crew to update the rest of the beers in real time, along with being able to edit all beers. Hopefully I can get that done this weekend. Then I can finish the new site layout!
