OK Scott, This "festival" looks like a scam. I just called them. It doesn't seem to be a "festival" like the outdoor event in San Diego a few months back with different vendors and such. All it is , is that the bar is serving different beers they normally don't have. Big deal? No special sample glasses either. You have to buy a pint at a time. I don't think I can afford to pay or drink a pint of everything they have. I'm still going to check it out but my expectations have lowered greatly. I hope I am wrong. Did you go last year??

They didn't hve on last year, that I know of. Sorry I missed this message before, but if you went, you saw that they had 5 oz samples available for 1.50 a piece. Granted this isn't your typical festival, but it was still cool, to try all of those wet hop/harvest beers.
I go to O'brien's all the time, and know the owners, they're not out to scam anyone.

I did stop by. But when I called, the girl on the phone told me Pints only. I made it very clear I was calling about the "festival". I'm glad I stopped by though. The place is not about decor. I did notice the 5oz samples and had a few. The Stone cask was great. I met Stone Brewing's CEO Greg Koch at the bar. He was cool. Also the owner was behind the bar and waited on me all night, nice guy. I met another guy at the bar who had a book with him of the 6000 beers he has tried. The best part was that they has Alesmith Speedway Stout on tap! I'm going back for more soon. Damn was that good! Maybe "scam" was the wrong word. But it was definitely not a festival and shouldn't be advertised as one. They did have a great selection of cask and hop/harvest beers. I'm glad I went.
In Reply To #5 Dude, I'm there like every thursday. Stop by some time. Tom the owner is great, I was there on wednesday and he cracked open some beer for a few of us that you can't get around here. Tom is also the head brewer for Left Coast/Oggi's in case you didn't know. The head brewers for Alpine, Russian River and a few other breweries were there in addition to Greg. You will most likely see greg and tom at the Strong ale fest too.
