Trip to upstate NY
General Beer Discussion by CHANGEUP45
Went to NY for the weekend and found a decent beverage store, with a bunch of beers I haven't found around here. Picked up some beers I've been looking for and have heard great things about! Pretty exciting! Some of the beers; Stone IPA Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale Samuel Smith India ALe Samuel Smith Pale Ale Brooklyn East India Pale Ale and a couple others I cannot remember right now. I think I'm going to take my time going through these.

In Reply To #3 I didn't review the place yet, it was a beverage store in Latham, NY (I think it was Latham, but I know I was in the Albany area). About 80 percent of the store was beer though. I don't think it was anything special, just better than most, if not all the places I've been to around here. I make the trip to Upstate NY all the time. Do you have anything you'd recommend? I think I'll be going back in 3 weeks or a month and want to compile another list of good beers to look for.
In Reply To #1 Son of a bitch! I was in upstate NY this weekend. We could have hooked up. On friday, I went to The Albany Pump Station for a few pints, then I hit up Oliver's beverage in Albany and Eddy's Beverage in Saratoga. If you ever get back, try and find Oliver's, they are the best beer store in the area.

In Reply To #6 Holy shit! I've been to the Albany Pump Station - it's about 10 minutes from where I go to visit up there. Was in Saratoga this weekend too! Stopped by the race tracks for a little bit, then shot up to Lake George. I'll have to check out this Oliver's! I did go to Latham Beverage, which was pretty good. Damn, wish I knew you were going to be there. What brought you to NY from CA?

In Reply To #9 Interesting. Small world I guess. Do you know where exactly in Albany, Oliver's is?
In Reply To #10 I live just outside Albany and Olivers is the place to get Beer. Westmere Beverage down on Rt 20 near Crossgates mall is also very nice. Mahars is nice (Been tossed out for an altercation with their asshole bouncer). Holmes and Watson in Troy is a cool Pub, but it's been a long time since I was there. mmmmmmmm Beer

In Reply To #13 Thanks for the recommendations! Always seem to go to Crossgates Mall when I'm in that area too. Nice theatre! Is one of those beverage places in Troy right off of Rte 7? I think I remember something right before I get onto... what is is... 787?
