General Beer Discussion by COTTRELL
One evil giant takes out another evil giant. At least this evil giant has some slightly better beers... http://edition.cnn.com/2004/BUSINESS/08/27/interbrew.ambev.reut/

Well, yeah, I see that Bass is one of Interbrew's labels. A former Bud sales rep who was running a liquor store told me that AB uses tannic acid to get the beechwood chips out of the beer. I asked Flash, but he could not confirm this. So, I have never made a statement or written an article---but MAYBE that explains why Bud seems to be a hangover-producing product even in relatively low quantities...at least for me. You seem to have a lot of technical interest in beer making (as do others in beerpal). Do you have any info re: this subject?
In Reply To #3 I've had very little from Interbrew that I consider good. They haven't made any money off of me in a long time. I don't really care if they screw with the beer they just bought, it's all mediocre at best anyway. I'll stick with my American micros and homebrew.
In Reply To #4 The only things I like from Interbrew are Bass and Leffe....Stella is Belgian Bud, Hoegaarden is lousy, Becks is mainstream and I never had Staroparamn (or whatever it's called)....Don't mess with Bass or Leffe.....The rest I could care less about.......Way to go it defeating the Evil Empire....Now if only someone could eliminate the Yankees from playoff contention.....:D Oiz
