Seriously. If you get more of those in, you could make out like a Mexican Police Chief trading with other BeerPals.

The Saint Sixtus Abbey's restricted sales/distribution policy is instrumental in getting good Wisconsin beer into the hands of our Southern friends. Who would have thought?

I've had more than twice as many Wisconsin beers as from any other state. [:D] My Badger Brethren have been very good to the Blue Lou.

I'm trying my best to get some more Westy's sent over by my relatives. I've offered to pay for beer and shipping x2 so they can profit off of the deal but they are still dragging their feet about it. I guess all I can do now is just keep annoying them about it. Living in MS, those Westy's are the only trading leverage I can get my hands on. Until I get some more I probably won't have anything else to trade with. [:(!]

Early in my beer geekery, I stumbled across it a couple of times, but that was in 2004, I think. The good beer store in Iowa City brought it in once and I had it again at a bar in Chicago. The Chicago try was interesting as I did it side by side with St. Bernardus 12 on tap, supposedly about the same brew. I preferred the St. Bernie, but it may have been a bottle storage issue.

This beer was one of the bigger letdowns of my beergeek career, but...the new giftpacks are somehow going to make it to this market in early 2012, so I'll be giving it another shot (having a better knowlwdge of the age and handling of the bottles prior to drinking).

I did end up giving this another try, and it was vastly improved over the first bottle. I upped my score a while back from a 3.7 to a 4.0 (new bottle from the stateside gift packs by itself was a 4.2+). Looking at the ratings on this, there are 102 reviews... 24.5% of them are perfect 5's 7.8% of them are under a 4 I'm sure the legend contributes, but man, that's a lot of perfect scored. Gotta respect. I've narrowly avoided giving a perfect 5 in any review. One or two beers have an instance of perfection, but then are not consistent enough to keep it (I'm thinking of the best batch or two of Speedway I ever had - but it's usually not at that level, and the one time I had Beer Geek Brunch Weasel on tap).
