Where does your Beerpal name come from?
Website Comments by CLASH
Mine was from my love of the punk/new wave genre of music. The Clash is one of my favorite bands of that era. I signed up on Beerpal shortly after Joe Strummer, the lead singer of The Clash, died literally weeks before they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just curious where does your BP name come from?

Yahoo allows you to change your username at will. Facebook allows you to change it as often as you want as well, although there can be up to a 24 hour waiting period on Facebook after you change it before it appears.

I don't know of any social site that allows something like that's. People could cause way too much trouble and confusion. I will only change a user's name once if there is a good reason.

If only Clash had dedicated his life to something useful, he coulda been somebody... but then again, who could have possibly predicted that Flock of Seagulls and Men Without Hats would someday be irrelevant? Oh yea, everyone. Everyone predicted that. [:D] Any chance we can get the ability to change our own names at some point? I could use a change.
Wow, I've never seen that feature before.

Your BeerPal name is like a tattoo; Once you get it, it's on there.
I also belong to another board that allows it. It also has displayed titles like "newbie" and such, and if someone abuses the name change too much, they get a unique permanent title. Well, permanent unless we think of something funnier. It's a good system, recommended. Where's southerncoronas when you need him?

I found the "name change request" form on Facebook and it's more like what I expect BP to be like. They have a real person approving the changes and they can deny or make your change final if you make multiple requests. The point is no one should be changing names for their own entertainment. Think of it like a tattoo. You can have it removed if you want, but it's not going to be fun [;)]
Let's hire that guy to enforce stupid rules for us too! Surriously, how often do you anticipate rejecting a new user name? I know we here at beerpal lack a bit of maturity, but surriously? And I only have temporary tattoos. Right now it's a unicorn on my ankle, the smiley face on my lower back has worn off.
