what's the deal with people adding the same brewers again but with a different country? I keep seeing new stuff pop up under "United Kingdom" when its alredy correct under "England". Like Young's for example! are you going to delete that horse dung or what? excedpt for that this site is cool!

In Reply To #8 That's it pksmith, you're the first member to be voted off of beerpal.com. But there's a twist, in this reality show, you can buy yourself back on! How? Send one mixed sixpack of local quality microbrews to any of the beerpal.com crew. Start with Cottrell, he's first on the list. If the beers pass his discriminating palate, your account will be renewed. You have 2 days to confirm that the package is on it's way.
In Reply To #9 Hahaha, you deserve a raise Cottrell. But seriously, those damn apostrophe names really botch up the works. I thought I had it so that all searchs ignored the "'", so that a search for "Pete's" or "Petes" would show the same restuls, but maybe that's not true.
In Reply To #10 Sweet a raise, how much, 10%? 20%? How about nixing the Add a brewery/beer form altogether. Instead, have the Add a Beer/Add A Brewer link lead to the beerpal.com mail form. Then send it to any of the keyholders who can add it on. Or have the mail go to a separate beerpal account that all the keyholders have access to. Just a temporary fix until the databases are completely cleaned up. Also, are you still going to be adding a separate forum category for the beerpal crew?
In Reply To #11 I never wanted to have a delay in beer additions because it would be annoying if someone wanted to review a beer that wasn't here and then had to wait after adding it before they could. I fixed a problem with the brewers the other day, and now all that's left to do is finish making the real page to allow the bp crew to edit brewers in the master database. There are about 220 new ones that need to be approved. Yeah, I'll make the forum one of these days. Been so busy with the condo still.
Just a suggestion, but if you allow the creator of the beer to change or delete it then they would be able to correct the mistake. ie when PK saw that the beer ahd already been entered he could have simply deleted his own and rated the one in there. Does this make me a guru? I think I just passed 1500 and while I have tried over a hundred beers in my day I doubt anybody on here would consider my tastes that of a beer "guru". Most have been variations of lagers and ales...very similar beers with different labels

In Reply To #14 I don't want to give anyone the ability to change a beer once they've add it. they could screw it up later, especially if we fixed it and they wanted to change it back! But this won't be a problem later anyway. We're about 10% done editing the beers (after less than a week) and once they're all done we'll be easily verifying every new addition around the same day they're added.
