Adding a new beer

Website Comments by LANG

Hmm. I was trying to add a new Aussie beer this AM, but when I got to the part describing the style and ABV, then pushed next, I got some sort of database error. Any suggestions? And please remember, I'm an utter nincompoop when it comes to computers; if the fix is more complicated than pointing and clicking, I'm out.

What were you trying to enter, and what error(s) did you receive? //TB

You need to have either '0' or an actual abv figure. If the ABV field is blank, I believe you do get an error. If that's not what's going on, let us know the answers to the questions posed by ECB. Thanks Brett

Just tried it again, and I see what's happening, though I don't know why. When I hit "next", the beer type (lager) disappears. Then I get a database text error message. Weird. Never happened before.

I've added a few beers recently without entering a value in the ABV category and had no problems, so my experience would suggest that the ABV is not the issue.

You're right. ABV isn't an issue when entering a new beer. I was confusing the initial entry with entering an abv during the approval process. Sorry.

Well, glad we cleared that up. Unfortunately we still haven't solved Lang's original problem. [B)] No need to be sorry Brett.

I beermailed him with a possible solution.

All fixed, for now. The system didn't like "lager", but accepted "pale lager". So Haagen Lager is in the 'puter.
