Stand-Up Comedians
Non-Beer Discussion by DANSTING
Along with the "Who has everyone seen in concert?" thread, what stand-up comics have you seen in person? I've seen David Cross, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Kevin Pollack, and Jay Mohr as headliners. Just curious who everyone else has seen.

I've seen some "lesser lights" on local comedy clubs and on cruise ships, and at the risk of veering slightly off-topic here's a word to the wise: some years back we were at a comedy club with some (I do have friends!) and the wife could not/would not stop talking during one guy's act. Guess which table became the centre of his attention? The rest of his set focussed on us, and it was not a fun time. Oddly, he didn't believe me when I said "I've never seen this woman (i.e., the missus) before in my life".
That is funny. Probably wasn't at that time, but now she's probably learned her lesson.

i am going to steer the conversation away from who has everyone seen live to fave comedians of all time. mine are carlin, sean collins, rich vos, russell peters, and harland williams, of which i will be seeing the latter live later in the year. as an aside to the previous aside, did anyone hear the story about a man and a woman who went to a comedy club on a date and one of the comedians riffed hard on this woman and she burst into tears, ran from the club, and a week later the comedian was served with slander lawsuit? the only reason i ask is cause i never did hear the outcome of the lawsuit and i fear that in this litigious era she won.
speaking of big *****, i can't believe i forgot redd foxx, the greatest afro-american comedian off all time, better than the over-rated richard pryor. although "supernigger" was a funny album(before anyone lambastes me, that's a real title, look it up), and the unfunny Bill Cosby.
