Anyone Like Australian Rules Football???

Non-Beer Discussion by OIZNOP

Back in the day when we were smart axx teenagers, my brother and I used to stay up late on summer nights and watch Aussie Football on ESPN back when they were not owned by ABC and were not what they are now....I was wondering if any of you beerpals out there ever got into it???...I wish I could find some Aussie football on cable tv like back in 84!....That was too fun to watch, espeically with those referees who looked like Bermuda bobbies on patrol....and the players...Man, those guys are damm tough!...If you can take hits like that without padding and helmets, you are frickken tough....Good On Ya, Mates, and G-day! But I don't get Fox Sports World on my cable....I guess it would be considered a premium channel and the cable extortionist would charge extra to add it on....I get Fox Sports Pittsburgh easily (for obvious reasons) but that's it.....(sigh!).....Oh well I will have to keep looking... Oiz

coming from a place where neither rubby or aussie football is played, aussie football is a lot easier to understand for the newbie. At least, when I've watched it on tv. for me, the rules governing scrums & rucks aren't too obvious. At least w/ aussie football, they gave an overview of the rules (not too many it seemed) before the game and that's all I needed
