Old Brews Become Cool to Young Drinkers

Industry News by SUDSMCDUFF

It seems that the older beers are gaining popularity again, with the younger generation. An intresting article that makes you think of the good ole days when granpa used to drink the stuff.... http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=509&e=1&u=/ap/retro_beer

Wow I just see that as pathetic. Why in Gods name is anyone going to drink beer for the "Coolness" you are going to get from being seen holding it.

"Why in Gods name is anyone going to drink beer for the "Coolness" you are going to get from being seen holding it". Where to start? Bud sells not beer, but an image. Same with most of the large U.S. operations, Coors readily comes to mind. I feel that way about most Belgi brews myself LOL! Seriously, if that is what it takes to keep the regional dominates going fine. I would like to see an increase of consumption of those brews in order to put pressure on the "micros" to lower the prices of their over priced products. By the way, you don't think there may be just a tad of your "coolness" factor associated with micros, or hell imports of all stripes for that matter? Ok, how bout damn near anything most folks consume?

I don't think is that younger drinkers find them cool. As a young drinker I tend to get PBR and Stag because they're tons cheaper than anything else. PS I look much cooler at the bar with my SNPA in a :gasp: GLASS!
