Hey Flash...Have you ever thought of including that for the site's chat room??....A voice over room so we don't have to type???.....Just a thought....We ham radio ops have a system (not that you have to be a ham to do VOIP) called echolink where computers are linked to ham repeaters around the world....you can conference, or hit the repeater of choice, or just use plain computer to computer voip.....it's pretty cool....Just an Idea..... That does sound like an interesting idea. I did not know that was applicable, it seems it would be difficult to do. However, I have never used Ham Radio before so I would not know. Maybe it can be done, it would definitely add yet another dimension to the chat; not that it is limited now.
I would imagine so...Echolink has it's own software that hams can download for free...I am sure there are compatable applications out there that are free and would suit your needs...as far as simultanious conversations, I don't think that is possible....People would be stepping on each other....there would have to be some degree of order.....In two way radio conversations, one person usually transmits, and then another one will respond, and so on....if two conversations happen at the same time, it will make for nothing but interference and noise....even on VOIP...One other note...The Echolink software will tell you when you are talking over someone....it will say "You are doubleing with KA3???"....so I would imagine other VOIP software has similar functions as well.....
If only two people can talk at one time, then I don't think it has much use on the site. The software I used is free and lets you talk at once (duplex mode I think they call it). It was pretty fun because there are buddy lists and you can call up any person, like a phone. There were hundreds of thousands of members. Anyway, separate software also means it can't be controlled by beerpal.com.
Strange, i never had any of those problems. Quality would definitely depend on the interenet connections between the two users, though.

I just want to warn you about downloading Skype. Tons of spywers, trojans and others... Plus not very good sound, strays and also you can be heard by others whie talking. Really not perfect software.[}:)]
Flashpro, There is a weay to have a voice talk that BeerPal can control. Use Paltalk 7.0 , Creat a room be or designate a monitor that can control the room. You can make a privat room that only a person with the correct pass word can get in. All can typ . To talk each takes turn and the monitor can control to let let one talk at a time. IT'S FREE I like it because you can make the room private and have total control.
