Montreal & Beer - Any Tips?

General Beer Discussion by EAGLEFAN538

Ok, I'll hit the Dieu du Ciel. Brewtopia is also on the list, cuz it's on Crescent Street (which I enjoy for eating). What is the best pub to hit for non-swill tap beer (Unibroue in particular)? Any tips would be appreciated for tomorrow.

i was there for New years a couple years back. Cool city. like NY but a hell of alot cleaner and friendlier. All i remember was this bar i stumbled upon late one drunk night. Its called L'amere a Boire. which i think means "the bitter of beer". This place was all about the beer and in fact i think its a brewpub. They actually have website http://www.amereaboire.com/. So i would definetly check it out. This was before i was big into craft beers but from what i had i do remember it was indeed good. Real nice dimlit setting too. its located on 2049 Rue St. Denis just east of Rue Sherbrooke (or a few blocks west from Rue Ste. Catherine).......watch out for St. Catherine street though[;)]

Thanks to all who gave me tips (most of which were in the online chat). The trip was most excellent from a beer perspective. (It even turned out to be an excellent business trip too.)
