Named after its brewmaster Christophe RATZ - graduate of toulouse's National Institute of Applied Sciences and rugby player - the brewery was established in 2001 at Arcambal, near to Cahors in the Lot. Christophe Ratz gained a large part of his brewing expertise while working in craft breweries in Belgium and in England. Very soon noted for the quality of its traditional, characterful beers, the brewery was awarded the bronze “Fourquet” at the 8th National Competition held at the French Museum of Brewing. Christophe Ratz's beers are neither filtered nor pasteurized and the secondary fermentation takes place once the beer has been bottled. It is hardly surprising that this traditional brewing method results in Ratz beers having exceptionally fine flavours. The last breweries in the Lot closed at the beginning of the 21st Century. Christophe Ratz has given the region the opportunity to rediscover the taste of traditional craft beers. Ratz beers are born...
