One of those trials was for John Brown, perhaps the nation’s most famous abolitionist. John Brown led a slave revolt in Harpers Ferry, an incident which ended up being a major catalyst towards the civil war. The courthouse also tried defendants from the famous Battle of Blair Mountain, the largest labor uprising in United States history and one of the largest, best-organized, and most well-armed uprisings since the American Civil War. It is from this great history of insurrectionists that we received the inspiration to form Abolitionist Ale Works. Abolitionist Ale Works rebels against the status quo of the beer industry. We strive to create fun, flavorful and unique beers for every palate that changes the way you think about beer. Beer should be fun; breweries and brew pubs should be fun…. For everyone. Come join us in our mission to abolish the predictable and the mundane. Come be an abolitionist.
