Yperman was brewed as a tribute to Dr Yperman. This surgeon worked and lived during the middle-ages in the nearby city of Ieper. He was and is still highly respected for his contribution to the modern surgical world. The local Jan Yperman hospital is honoring his legacy, by being one of the best reputed surgical institutes. This high fermented ale starts sweet and a light aroma suggests a fruity character which is supported by a smell of fine herbs. Medium body and foamy carbonation are the introduction to spicy malt with a hinge of caramel and toffee. The middle taste suggests fine hops and malt evolving to a surprising bitter Ale taste. The after drink keeps the bitter taste, but ends with fresh and soft herbal sweetness.

hazy amber colour and a stable little head; bready and fruity aroma (lychees); at best medium-bodied; some sweetness followed by a sharp and rather aggressive bitterness; dry finish where bready and fruity notes can be met again - ambitious-less

Dark orange/pink colour, mediumsized foamy head. Aroma of wild strawberry and hops. Flavour is wild strawberries, strawberries, hops and some caramel. Also some hints of syrup.
