An incredibly ambitious Arizona collaboration imperial stout. We got together with some of our favorite long time beer making buds in the Arizona brewing industry to concoct a purposefully challenging & equally ridiculous imperial stout. Essentially a call to these brewers to come wreck our new fancy system. We did a lil voluntary ask of everyone to bring their favorite dark beer malt, adjuncts, even hops. We took off running. Loaded the mash ton with a good 1,000lbs more than we should have; double roasted crystal, chocolate malts, honey malt, more crystal malts, oak smoked wheat, smoked barley, etc. Tiny bit of Saaz and Sabro to provide some level of hop balance to this thick stout. Well we took our extra thick first runnings (what we could get) and boiled for a few hours alongside a bunch of honey & some wild agave syrup. Fermented with an American ale strain purposely leaving a hefty amount of complex unfermentable sugars, down to 13.2% abv. We then conditioned this beast on northern az roasted coffee beans, thco organic cocoa nibs, Tahitian vanilla beans, and a light addition of mild and hot hatch chiles. This is like an intensely flavorful Mexican mocha. So much Arizona in this beer!! It is a beautiful thing. Big thank you to all these friends who made it out to brew and helped throw a seemingly impossible beer together.

Rated June 2021. Pint can pours with a deep dark hot fudgy chocolate colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up loads of sweetened dark roasted coffee followed by dark chocolate blended with highly roasted malts to nearly burnt maltiness. The taste delivers rich smooth near velvety chocolate and malt sweetened dark roasted coffee. It then moves toward increasing levels of dark roasted malts that flow into mildly burnt malts into the finish. This is a nice smooth rich balanced sipper that has just enough depth and richness to nearly completely mask the large ABV. Solid.
