Some things are simply undeniable: A horse is the size of a horse, an unladen swallow needs to beat its wings 43 times per second to maintain airspeed velocity, and a beautiful pilsner is a delight to drink. Least that’s what we say around here. For this beer sized beer, we got together with our good, old pals from @structuresbrewing in Bellingham, Washington and settled into thinking about the hoppier side of Pilsner. We offer to you this North German Pilsner designed with a snappy and assertive bitterness that tastefully sparkles like a polished diamond. It’s built with @weyermann_specialty_malts Pilsner Malt, and three (3!) very early additions of fine Czech Saaz, Tettnanger, and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops. We fermented dry and cool with our House German Lager Yeast and conditioned cold many weeks allowing for a full, vibrant, natural carbonation. We’ve made nice, hoppy IPAs with Structures before but have we ever made something so clean, crisp, and refreshing as this? We think not! Give them a visit next time you’re in Western Washington. They’re making remarkable beer with neighborly hospitality. 4.7% ABV.

Rated Dec. 2020. Pint can pours with a murky opaque dull gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up tangerine, cantaloupe, honeydew and a bit of banana flavored bubble gum. The taste delivers similar notes with a brief hit of tangy juicy tangerine followed quickly by sweet tropical cantaloupe and mango. To midway a distracting sweet banana sensation intercedes and mildly disrupts the experience and leaves it on the sweet side.
