Steel Toed Flip Flops begun it’s life in the early Fall of 2018. Our friend Dan from Mikkeller San Diego drove out to our brewery here in Phoenix with one goal in mind, to create a viscous and flavorful imperial stout. We achieved that goal and immediately put it into a mix of bourbon and Woodford Reserve double oak barrels. The final blend is spectacular. Soft oak dominates the aroma, which leads to a beautiful background of vanilla & toffee. Just enough booze to remind you of the whiskey once held in these barrels. Simply a balanced delicious stout and some incredible oak to age it in, what else do you need? We are super happy with how this turned out and can’t wait to share it with you all during our anniversary week celebration

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Pint can pours with a deep dark chocolate colored body that supports a nice mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate, some dark roasted malts, a bit of vanilla and booze. The taste delivers smooth near velvety chocolate flowing into soft thin vanilla and dark roasted malts. To midway it becomes more boozy but the chocolate persists right into the finish. Great sipper.
