This beer started with a standout barrel we knew we wanted to get creative with. This species of Kingsnake is technically the last one we have not done, so we wanted to make it special. When we tasted this barrel during its 11 month slumber in Wild Turkey Rye, we were blown away by its dominance over the tasting panel. When we deemed it ready, it was then transferred to a Tahitian vanilla barrel for 4 months to bring out an added decadence. The creative gears have long been turning on a variant with unique ingredients like this one, and this was the time to pull out all the stops. Bringing the Mexican flair to this final product, it was finished on hand processed Mexican planifolia vanilla beans and palo santo wood staves soaked in our absolute favorite Oaxacan mezcal. This decadent stout brings a deep flavor on its own of sweet cocoa and a tiny hint of clove, balanced by the palatable flavors of faint smokiness and pine from the mezcal soaked wood. This small batch Keystone Kingsnake was a creative labor of love by our production team, and we’re thrilled by its finished profile.
