Happy to Donut was a simple predictive text error (we talk about donuts a lot) that became an inspiration. We brewed a 9% Imperial Stout and then added over a pound per barrel of exceptional @tchochocolate cacao nibs from Ghana and a few of the fattest Madagascar vanilla beans we’ve seen. The result is a rich and decadent stout akin to a chocolate donut.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Rated April 2019. Pint can pours with a deep dark black void of a body that supports a thin dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate blended with molasses and coffee leading to a pleasing dark chocolate note toward the end of the draw. The taste delivers a surge of highly roasted malts that toy with being charred but sweet malt influenced chocolate takes over the flavor before that can happen. It rides on a dark roasted malt and coffee wave right into the finish with just small ripples of sweetness and chocolate along the way. Really nice sipper with flavor running deep. Very little sense of the ABV.
