Firecracker, our newest entry in the cactus catalog, is a Bourbon Barrel fan's dream. A blend of 3-year-old, 2-year-old, & 1-year-old barrels. This delicious Imperial Stout is packed with true American Whiskey notes: white oak, a hint of rich vanilla & deep flavors of caramelized sugar. The mix of chocolate malts make this particular blend a rich & memorable stout reminiscent of a decadent, but strong, cocktail.

Rated Oct. 2021. Pint can pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up plenty of reduced sugars like molasses, caramel and then vanilla mixed with bourbon booze and a touch of oak. The taste delivers rich, balance, deep stouty goodness. I get molasses, caramel and a bit of sweetened dark roasted malts heading into a thin layer of smooth sweet rich vanilla cut by lightly stinging bourbon booze. The roasted malts and reduced sugar notes are thankfully forward in the flavor with the modest degree of bourbon booze and faintly oak like barrel character bringing up the rear. This is a great balanced rich sipper.
