Introducing BARREL SELECT NO. 1, a 11.5% Imperial BA Stout... We are very excited to present to you, Barrel Select No. 1. This beer is the first in a new series of Single Barrel Aged Imperial Stouts, as well as a collaborative effort with the fine folks at Tarbell's Restaurant & Tavern. Beautiful barrel character coming through on this one. All those flavors we know and love like vanilla and oak along with notes of fudge, cola and whipped cream. A true sipper best enjoyed fireside.

Rated April 2021. Red waxed 12oz bottle pours with a nice deep dark colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up toffee, chocolate, smooth bourbon and a bit of boozy heat to the snoot. The taste delivers smooth slick soft rich chocolate goodness that ushers in bits of sweet dark fruity esters. Toward midway the reduced sugars start to emerge with notes of caramel and toffee. Behind the deep delicious beer notes are layers of fairly smooth bourbon and boozy heat. Wren House nailed the beer to barrel character balance. Plenty of rich beer goodness rounded out nicely by supple sweet bourbon and a bit of booze. This is a great sipper. Please keep making more like this.
