Pours a rich coffee brown with a in tan head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, spices and molasses with a hint of good coffee. Flavor has strong notes of cocoa, coffee, roast malt, molasses and hot pepper - the last gets your attention but does not dominate the taste buds. I have had peppery beers that turned me off; thank Bacchus this is not one of them. Texture is thick as motor oil and lively as a kitten in a catnip patch. Pity this is a special, available for only a brief time.
