Bottled@Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Rubyish brown colour with a mediumsized foamy beige head. Aroma is a bunch of sweet maltyness, some wood, mild fruits and berries as well as some nice alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is wood, sweet malts, alcohol, some berries and mildly spicy, raisiny and plummy notes. Mild toasted notes towards the finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep slightly hazy copper color ale with a small bubbly head with no retention. Aroma is quite complex and hard to describe but I can pick up traces of vanilla and some subtle smoke. Taste is a well balance mix between some vanilla, caramel, very subtle smoke and some oak. Alcohol is well hidden and body is above average but not very full either. Carbonation is very low, almost like an old Thomas Hardy. Very interesting take on an ambiguous style (for me at least!) and I am very curious about trying some aged bottle in a couple of year since I believe age could do wonder to this beer.

Bottle conditioned. Dark brown with rubyish hues, with very sparse, soon gone, off-white head. Aroma has dark fruit, malt, wood, chocolate with a hint of alcohol. Flavour is vinous and almost smokey, plus the aroma elements (accentuated wood taste). Soft, full, flatish, slightly oily mouthfeel; which is not completely to my liking. However, still very good.
