The first of the Farmhouse Select Series: Original ’91. It’s a throwback to our early days in cider making. The year was 1991. A winemaker began tinkering with apples in a Proctorsville, Vermont garage. It gave birth to an original American hard cider. Woodchuck Hard Cider.

It pours a hazy light-yellow and white without any head or lacing. An aroma of tart apples, grapes, lemonade and citrus, marshmallow, and pepper and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth although rather thin. Flavors of tart apples, grapes, lemonade and citrus, marshmallow, and mild pepper and spiciness. Very good flavor, but it feels more like a wine than a beer..

Aromas of apples and very, very faint hints of earth. The body looked like watered down apple juice, very pale with not much carbonation or any head. Flavor was about like the aroma, i just wish the yeasts would have come out a bit more, but still a nice cider.

easily one of nicest ciders ever made, just a shame about the price .. . . I bet a funny thing about driving a car off a cliff is, while you're in midair, you still hit those brakes...
