A great malt body with 30 pounds of Amarillo and Cascade hops added over a 5 hour period results in an assertive but balanced reminiscent of an American Barleywine Ale. Designed to be cellared. Limited to 2007 bottles.

Thanks Immy: Bottle 1151: Pours a heavily chill hazed brown with an excellent light khaki head. The aroma is full of rich caramel malt, a nice note of american hops flowing around underneath and a distinctly tropical fruitiness. It’s almost like watermelon bubblegum and passionfruit. This is a pretty interesting big beer.

A beautiful malty aroma, with a dark ruby red appearance. Not a big head to it but it laced nicely as I drank the beer. A great full bodied feel that was very warming. The taste was very sweet in the beginning and it rounded at the end with a great hoppiness. The brewery rep said it was a imperial brown, but it smelled, looked, and tasted like a barley wine to me. This should keep nice for a couple of years, but it's enjoyable now. Bottle #1888 of 2007 is now history.
