Tasted on tap at the 2007 Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival. This imperial stout pours a dark black color. Small sized beige head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, coffee and roasty, with a touch of oak and bourbon. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balance. Seems a touch thin in the mouth for an imperial stout, but more than makes up for it with nice smooth bourbon and oak flavors. Touch of vanilla as well. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is very full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
