http://weyerbacher.com/blog/2012/11/yankee/ The 25th installment – that’d be 2nd to LAST – in the Brewers’ Select Series is Yankee! No, this is not about baseball! For those of you just tuning in, the Brewer’s Select Series follows the NATO alphabet: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc. Yankee is the letter “Y”. Yankee is an “Old Ale” and as such is expected to cellar quite nicely. Described by some as a ‘baby barleywine’, this beer is an Old Ale, 8.4% ABV with 51 IBU. Yankee is a full-bodied, mahogany ale with an intense malt aroma and flavor. You’ll find caramel, bread and fruit, with a touch of spice and smoke with a warm vinous finish. English East Kent Golding hops balance out this malty treasure!
