This dark almost black beer uses the finest floor malted maris otter barley and Challenger and Styrian Goldings hops. Add the village’s unique supply of spring water, and the award to Rowley Mild by 2003’s GBBF of Champion Mild of Britain and third best beer in Britain, this bittersweet, dark northern mild with hints of chocolate has bags of flavour for its strength.

Cask conditioned at the 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, as "Wensleydale Rowley Mild". Gravity dispense. Dark brown colour. Lovely aroma of dark fruits with slightly roasty notes. Flavour is moderately malty with a moderate fruity character - lacking in hops, but that’s the traditional mild for yer, mate. Not too much of a mouthfeel at 3.2% ABV, but decent enough.
