Road Block is a German style Doppelbock. A long cool fermentation results in a deceptively easy drinking beer. German malts give this beer a bready, malt forward flavour which is enhanced by moderate bitterness. The resulting Road Block Doppelbock is a full flavoured, brown coloured strong lager.

The beer pours a translucent dark cherry red with a thin brown tan cap which starts off bubbly but quickly recedes to a film on top. The aroma is toasted caramel malt, earthy hops, weak bread, and a hint of yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sadly, the flavour falls short. While only 7.5%, the alcohol flavour dominates the taste. There are hints of caramel and bitter hop notes, but the alcohol steals the show.
